Many may ask, “What is the motive for keeping a flat earth?” Good question, and think that it serves a couple of purposes. Add your thoughts to this thread and come up with the reasons you think that the government, astronomers and others lie to us.

Admittedly, this is one of the latest reasons but it's a good one, and that is NASA can continue to get billions of dollars each year by keeping up the scam.
As they say, “follow the money” and you'll know who did what, who benefits.
The money NASA gets
According to Wikipedia, NASA's budget for 2011 was over $18 billion! Since its inception, they have received over one half a trillion dollars from the taxpayer. Do you think they want to see this money stop? Heck NO!
There are thousands of others that don't want the world to know that the earth is flat, and that is the approximately 18,000 employees (according to Wiki.). Plus about the same amount of outside Contractors.
I'm sure that most of these people don't know the truth about the earth. But one thing for sure, is that they don't want to lose their jobs.
Why would the money stop coming in if the public knew that the earth is flat? Because there would be no planets to fly to, no satellites to send into space (that's another big life about the thosands of satellites we have flying – but that is another story).
There is a lot more I can say to this, but I'll leave this for another time. But think of this, if the charge for putting up a rocket costs $1 billion but the rocket itself only cost $100 million, then you give out about $10 million for employees and “under the table deals”, that leaves a huge profit left for those at the top. And these people will do ANYTHING to keep the lie going.
This is my theory anyway.
